If you know about Microsoft's Inclusive Design Toolkit, this is the extended version!

A very valuable book for any person who designs and/or builds things that others will use. I especially recommend it to public administration workers and those who build their digital products.

Cyd Harrell: A Civic Technologist's Practice Guide (Paperback, 2020, Five Seven Five Books) 4 stars

I’ve put every single thing I know about civic tech into this little book. It’s …

Great, but US-centric

This book has a lot of insight and advice for tech people who want to work with public administration. At times, it reads more like a lengthy blog post than an actual book, and a big portion of the information is obviously tailored to the US government. We definitely need a similar work (maybe an adapted translation?) in German!

Lisa Herzog: Die Rettung der Arbeit (Paperback, Deutsch language, 2020, bpb Schriftenreihe) 4 stars

Arbeit retten?

H. G. Parry: The Unlikely Escape of Uriah Heep (Hardcover, 2019, Redhook) 2 stars

Nope

The story is kind of a standard gritty revenge plot with some mystery added. The art is the truly remarkable thing here, mixing fine details and heavy brushes perfectly. The best moments are when it becomes surreal.

This series is also a modern classic of (North American) indie publishing. It's a one person project which was initially released through monthly issues (which is a whole lot of work for a single person). I'll definitely read the rest of the series.
